Samsung could not ignore the trend for artificial intelligence, and the new Galaxy S9 and S9 + will be equipped with the appropriate “hardware”. According to Korean media reports, the Korean manufacturer invests a large amount in the Chinese startup DeePhi Tech, created last year. Partners of this company are already MediaTek, Amazon Web Services and Xilinx. Large companies are attracted by both hardware technologies and methods of data compression using neural networks. This will help Samsung prepare a chipset with NPU for mobile devices, which provides interactive speech recognition, processing of neural processes and other tasks for recognition on smartphones. Both sides do not comment on this cooperation, but it can become part of a global strategy to increase investment in this area. The first results of these investments are awaited in the first quarter of 2018.
