Today Sony began to update the flagship Xperia XZ Premium to Android 8.0 Oreo, thereby becoming the first company (not counting Google), which provided its users with such an update. In addition to changes in stock Android, Sony offered several important additions to its branded shell, which was removed by the corresponding promotional video.
In the center of attention is a new function “reminders” that will not let you forget to call back on a missed call, activate the game mode with the appropriate settings, context menu when selecting text or long clicking on the application icon and other useful trivia. Obviously, these functions will be available to all Xperia devices on Android Oreo, and “chips” like 3D-modeling will get only the selected ones. The release schedule for other updates is not yet known, but the entire list of devices you can find here .
